About International Award for Young People

Young people need experiences outside the classroom to become committed, responsible and fulfilled citizens.

International Award for Young People or IAYP provides opportunities and recognition for all such non-academic learning experiences. Its presence in 142 countries makes it the world’s leading youth achievement award and provides for the world’s largest framework for non-formal education. Every year, over a million youngsters between 14 to 24 years of age are benefitted by this programme.

The Award Framework

The award comprises of three levels depending upon the age of entry – bronze, silver and gold. At each level, participants need to complete requirements of active engagement into its four components – physical recreation, skills, voluntary service and adventurous journey.

Award Metal Badges

The Award @ SNK

The Award Programme in SNK was introduced in 2018. Since then, more than 400 students have received the award at the bronze, silver and gold levels. As part of the award, students initiated and executed the following community service projects.

Prarambh

In this project, students attempted to reduce traffic congestion outside the gates of SNK by employing non-verbal communication.

Prayaas

Prayaas

This is a unique initiative in which students rendered care and concern for the students of two of the three TGES-adopted RMC schools by teaching them basic English and Maths and helping them with their homework.

Window 2018

This was a raffle-linked fundraising project in which students raised Rs. 2,84,537 which was then used to support the students of the TGES-adopted RMC schools.
